Meet Daniel: Senior Business Development Manager

Daniel recently joined The Scale Factory to lead business development for Bannerflow in Southeast Asia. With over a decade in advertising spanning agency, publisher, and startup roles, he saw this as an opportunity to build something meaningful with a team that shares his values.

“I’ve always enjoyed working across cultures and seeing how people approach things differently,” he says. “Joining a Nordic company brings a different energy—calm, thoughtful, collaborative. It’s been a really welcome change.”

What stood out most, though, was the leadership. “You’re working with people who’ve built businesses before and know what they’re doing. It doesn’t feel like just another job, it feels like I’ve stepped into something I can grow from.”

There was also a full-circle moment: during the final interview stages, Daniel realized that Lars, one of The Scale Factory’s founders, was a former colleague from his Omnicom days in Shanghai. “That kind of thing reminds you how connected this industry is. It’s also why I’ve always believed in treating people well—it tends to come back around.”

That sense of familiarity extended to the product too. “I’ve seen how much time teams spend chasing creative updates and handling manual tweaks. Bannerflow takes that off their plate, so they can focus on the work that actually moves the needle.”

When it comes to growing in Southeast Asia, Daniel knows the importance of being present. “Clients here want to work with people they trust, someone local, someone who understands the market. That kind of connection really matters, and it lasts.”

Alongside his industry experience, Daniel also brings an entrepreneurial streak, having launched his own fashion-focused social media platform in the past. “One thing I’ve always tried to do is say yes to things that push me outside my comfort zone. That’s usually where the good stuff happens.”

We’re excited to have Daniel on board as we continue building out our presence in the region.
